SayulitAnimals’ FREE Spay + Neuter program is provided to any dog or cat brought to SayulitAnimals, whether it is a beloved "family pet" or a newly-noticed stray. Animals that have not fasted, or do have an appointment will not be admitted.
This program remains the crux of all of our work, as it is THE most effective and humane form of population control available, and also helps reduce the number of street animal medical emergencies by simply having less helpless cats and dogs wandering around town. With less homeless animals, the ecosystem balances, the streets and beaches are more sanitary, abusive methods of population control become unnecessary, and we create a safer and saner home for us all.
Part of the Spay + Neuter program is cat trapping. The only successful way to deal with the abundance of feral cats is to trap the cats, spay or neuter them, and then put them back where they came from. This ensures that new cats will not take over the area, and that the cats that do exist in the area cannot reproduce. SayulitAnimals will help the community by providing the cat traps themselves so residents to catch the cats. We do not provide this as a service.
When SayulitAnimals’ Spay + Neuter clinics are in full swing, visiting Veterinarians (who also donate their time and skills), can often operate on more than 40 animals over a two-day period. Because post-operative monitoring and care is of the highest priority for SayulitAnimals, volunteers are pressed into action. We also have a great group of people who staff our info and merchandise kiosk in town, work on our Website, or contribute in some other way. So, in acknowledgement for all they do, we are pleased to introduce you to SayulitAnimals’ Volunteers:
Karen Razza, Barbara Kirkwood, Janis Black, Jules Sanderson,
Jennifer London, Jamie Williams, Tracy Guizzetti

Thank you to Julio Martinez for your support and expertise!
Annually we do a 3 day campaign in neighbouring towns such as San Ignacio, Punta de Mita,
Higuera Blanca and many small towns that you’ve never heard of! All of our sterilizations are
BY DONATION, or with a pay-as-you-can donation. Contact Us to find out when we will be in your area.
There are a few things you can to do make the process as pain-free as possible, for both you and your pet.
