Below our some of our heart warming success stories
A touching story about the love between one of our adopted pups Meli and her new dad ...
Nino was found walking along the highway just outside of Bucerias, Nayarit. Emaciated, dehydrated and covered in painful sores, ticks and mange, he was initially wary when first approached by Sara Briner. Ever persistent, Sara continued to coax him closer and closer, until finally, Nino allowed himself to be helped…
Provided with expert veterinarian direction and the loving, dedicated care of the SayulitAnimals team, Nino slowly recovered. Homemade dog food of liver, vegetables and oatmeal, as well as exfoliating skin treatments helped him to both gain weight and regrow his coat.
A mere two months after Nino was found near death on the highway, he was well enough to be placed with Faith, his foster mother, in California. And a short time after that, he was adopted by Joan and Paul into their loving home near Lake Tahoe; the life he deserved all along.Sadly, Nino passed away only a few months later after a short battle with cancer. Far from his horrific past, Nino’s last months were spent in comfort – he was safe, well fed and very loved. A loving, forgiving and gentle soul, Nino touched many hearts; he lives on in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known him. His story is proof that the actions of a compassionate few can truly change the world.
As you can tell, Bones was in rough shape when we found him. But his spirit was still very much in tact and he was excited to go to his forever home, thanks to SayulitAnimals and the help of our volunteers! After 4 months, Bones was looking so healthy!

that our days may be long on the Earth,
That the days of our people may be long,
that we shall be as one person,
that we may finish our road together."
